found this on saryrn tavern today:

http://eq.crgaming.com/viewarticle.asp?Article=5257

anyone want to go gambling?

also this tidbit:

They are in Shadowhaven. Building #28 on the EQAtlas maps (Approx loc of 0, 800) inside Shandeling's Roost. There are 4 NPC casinos. One for melees, one for hybrids, one for Int casters and one for Wis casters. You have to buy a token from another NPC (119pp) and give it to one of these NPC's. Of course there's also a banker standing in the corner for easy access to more money.

Aparently you can win items by doing this too. Some of the things that have been won are;

Guise of the Deceiver
Rubicite Breastplate
Glowing Black Drum
Fungus Covered Staff
Elder Holgresh Beads
Ton Po Bo Stick

Some of the minor prizes seem to be:
Race Illusion potions
Stat food

Well I continued to read on down the tavern post and apparently its only on TEST right now =( But if someone finds it let me know. I think I might start a new gambling addiction. And this may relieve all that bug/cheating for PP that was done maybe and fix our damn economy maybe just maybe.

Ok I looked for it in the area there posted, but it wasnt there too bad =(

Not like I have any money to gamble with now that I had to lay down 6k pp for my epic robe. I'm poor again to go along with being broke and lonely =\

As a side note: Is my public persona of that of a fool truly? I'm sorry if I have not been around as long as anyone else.....

I think Ching is just highlighting the ultimate outcome from gambling with a computer. You will lose over time.

You might get lucky, but usually that just stokes your fire, and eventually you will give back anything that you have won.

If you have plat to spare, and enjoy gambling, have at it. It's far better than losing your kids college money in Vegas. There are folks that truely enjoy it, regardless of the future outcome.

There are also folks that look at it as a sure fire loss of time and virtual resources, and would rather farm greens with a certain future benefit. Each might look at the other's activities as foolish, or silly, and from their perspective be correct.

I'm the ultimate hypocrite in this, I won't gamble in EQ (where the consequences are virtual) but I do play Craps and Poker in Vegas. In fact, I leave tonight for a business trip to Vegas, and most likely will play a little of both tomorrow (at the Mirage if you are close by).

Maybe I'm not a hypocrite, I find it far more entertaining trying to beat other humans at Poker, or cheering with the crowd at the craps table, than letting a RNG (gawd forbid, especially the EQ RNG) take plat away from me over time. The Key, I think, is the fact that I view it as entertainment, not a means to provide for myself or family.

Either way, there will certainly be some discussion about an already addictive game, exposing minors to yet another addictive and potentially life ruining pursuit. I would be surprised if we do not see some media coverage on this.
