Title: For Those with Crashing Probs
Post by: Zorvic on December 04, 2003, 07:45:42 AM
For the last week, I have been crashing while zoning quite a bit.  I found  a post online that seems to have helped address this problem.  If you are having similar issues, then feel free to give this a try.

I do NOT guarantee this to solve your problems.

In your userdata directory (subdirectory of your EQ installation), move all of your CJ*.* files to a temp directory.

Login to EQ.

If you are using the default keymapping, press ALT+J to open your journal and disable it.

I am still testing it, but so far the zone crashing has ceased.

Just an idea to try for those of you that are frustrated.

Journal entries. They record every text message from the NPCs you interact with. Useful if you do quests and need to re-read something. I think it's one of the lag suspects in dungeons when you get mob aggro text from 4 or 5 mobs and it tries to write them to disc, causing a momentary pause.
