ya, i've seen that before. Still funny tho. I showed it to my geometry teacher in high school and he got a kick out of it too.

Me and a coworker came up with a number such proofs back in the 80's at Bell Labs. We thought they were random acts just to see them show up again later. This was one of them. I love it. LOL.

In my Algebra2/Trig class in high school many years ago we got this extra credit thing because we used some 4 pages of notebook paper proving that 1=0. LOL

Even though the following proof and conclusion is flawed, it still is funny. And since I majored in theoretical math as an undergraduate, I am allowed to poke fun at math.

Proof of the meaninglessness of all Math

X = Y

X*X = Y*X

X*X - Y*Y = Y*X - Y*Y

(X + Y)*(X - Y) = Y (X - Y)

X + Y = Y

X = 0

Hence, all numbers = 0.

Since, 0 + 0 = 0 and 0 * 0 = 0, the answer to all math problems is 0.
