Title: Loss of Target
Post by: Tonzafun IndyJok on July 30, 2002, 02:37:15 PM
Hi guy's,

I was wondering if anyone else is having a probelm loosing your target when moving forward with your mouse?
It is killing me and really hacking off the enchanters. I have to use the keyboard to move around and even that sometimes makes me lose target because to move sideways I still use the mouse.

I have heard of other people having this problem with mouse movement. Another problem that is occuring is when people leave alot of corpses in zones. Others are accidentally trying to loot these corpses. This is a real problem if you are trying to move thru a high lvl zone while invis :)

Yes, I know excatly what you mean. Inspecting peeps you run by, casting buffs/heals on group is another. I may have to go back to the old UI. At least untill they fis the targeting issue.

Had this same problem, and it caused the death of a good chanter friend cos i broke a mez due to target changing...

The reason it happens is that when you right click (ie to mouse-look), even though your mouse cursor disappears, the game still recognizes wherever your pointer was last on the screen. This isn't a huge problem, until you left-click (whilst still holding the right mouse button, ie to move forward)... When you left click now, WHATEVER  your 'hidden' mouse pointer is on, you will target. Give it a go :)

So until Verant decide to fix this, best option is to only use mouse to look around, but never to move forward in a fight..

I think the worse problem is when your stuff just disappears....gms will give you back what they can and outta 8 items I got back 7 but wouldn't you know it the one I didn't get back was the most expensive one to buy lol

Point to note,

You can only ask the gms for what items you remember having.

:D :D

overheard someone in guildchat who was very distressed that their epic poofed when they looted a dagger from a mob. the dagger went into primary slot, and epic disappeared.  they camped and came back into the game with epic on the cursor.

it might be a good idea for everyone to run the magelo update program in the background while they play, and generate the report of what items you have in which bags.  that info might be useful if you lose items and need to petition for refunds.
