Since it would make getting a whole guild together at one time, not to mention get them all to come play the new game, I assumed they would just use the same server names. However, since the names are mostly gods, I guess they don't want to do that since the gods are 'gone'.

I think not announcing server names in advance is really annoying though. People will spend the first few days server hopping so they can meet up with players they know and some will go to different servers. Splitting time on servers sucks.

RL sucks. I've played it before but I gave it up when I found out that if you die once, you lose EVERYTHING on your character. The only good thing is that if you complete the 'Will' quest, all your loot at least goes to your friends and family.

It's the most hyped of the last 100 years, I'll give it that. In historical perspective, the election of 1940 was about a billion times more important.

I haven't seen them announce names for servers yet or how they plan to impliment it. Right now, it's just Beta 1-40. I think it'd be in their best interest to use the same names as the EQLive servers but Sony isn't always noted for doing the obvious.

Yeah, most lag is in Antonica, if there was ever a zone screaming for instancing, that's the one.

The system reqs aren't joking around. Whatever they say it requires to run is barely going to run. Be prepared for the recommended at least or you'll have horrid frame rates. Fizzgig did a 24 hour DL of the patcher/game and found out she can't run it because her video card is lacking the newest pixel shader. My guess is that if you didn't get top of the line in the last year, you may have to upgrade. I'm sure there will be people who say they have an older one and it runs, blah blah blah, but I'm just saying, three of the four people I know in the beta had to upgrade to play and the fourth one bought his card in the last year.

I haven't been able to play much, only made it to 12 with my crusader. Quests aren't too bad, the quest journal is great for keeping track of things. Waypoints, stuff like that are cool. The lag, imo, is pathetic. For a company that has been doing these games for years now, you'd think they could find someone to write better server code.

Overall, I like it, but I like every one of these games that I play for about two months. Not sure I'd put in five years with EQ2 but then again, it took me a year to play EQ for more than two days in a week.

I saw someone running around in EQ2 named Kalana, I think.

It's pretty cool, I think beta invites have only gone out to two groups so far: people who bought Lords of EQ last year and it appears current guild leaders. I am a GL on Morden Rasp and I got one, everyone else who got one so far that I know of is a GL

I'm betting Fizz got a new toy and it's a bit on the superpowered side, thereby causing a power surge. Anyone else think that's what did it?
