Woohoo! I have it on good authority that the proposed region locking system, whereby you must purchase a seperate copy of PoP for each server you are playing on, will only affect future servers when they come online. The current servers will apparently fall under one umbrella, so I will be able to play on Saryryn and AB with a single copy of PoP. Phew!

I haven't decided if I will buy PoP at all yet. There are some rather nasty rumours about that if you register it on a US server then you won't be able to play it on the European server unless you buy a second copy. Currently, I am waiting to see how my European friends fair with their copies. I don't like the idea of anyone trying to force me to choose one set of friends over another, and there is no way in hell I am going to cowtow to corporate bully boy tactices and pay verant twice for it -- sorry for language.

As a 60 wizard, I have mixed feelings about the manaburn nerf.
I think Chingerz' post on manaburn is spot on. It is far too powerful for old-world style encouters, but then so are most level 60 characters with enough AA points to to get manaburn in the first place. In the post Luclin world it is just a big aggro magnet with comparatively little damage for the mana expended (as it only does between 2.5 and 3.5 times the caster's mana in damage, it is not much better than a big lure spell).
Whenever Verant introduce changes that appear good on the surface, there will always be a group pushing the envelope till it breaks. Any group of characters holding Epic mobs for ransom are quite clearly acting agains the spirit of the 'play nice' policy. The players should be penalised not the class. I have seen level 60 rogues assasinate for 32K of damage, but no one is talking about allowing only one successful assasination attempt on a mob per minute.

Welcome back Niz, knew you wouldn't stay away forever!
If you are serious about levelling your new wizzy let me know - I learnt a trick or two when I cloned Mythavatar for transfer to UK server. (My UK wiz is going to ding 60 this week, by-the-bye.) Don't forget, wizards who follow solusek ro get to wear some nice int rings other wizzies do not.

Sorry to see you go, Niz. I will miss having you to share my wizardly woes and triumphs with -- even if you did beat me to level 54 P.
As far as retirement goes, I have seen many a player come out of retirement for many different reasons. You have lots of friends here whom you will miss as much as we will miss you. So try not to burn any bridges with the guildy who has your account now as you may want it back some day. (Only last night, Vilnayin from HoW made a surprise reappearance on the UK server after being absent since its launch last October.)
