Kazaba

More of a first impressions then any concrete info here -

- Spires are obsolete.  Left click pillar to plane of knowledge, left click another one to get to many locs in Norrath

- Plane of Knowledge is initially very overwelming, but the longer you are in it the more logical the layout seems

- Plane of Tranquility is well Tranquil.  Looks like some tradeskill supplies available, so may be a peaceful place to Trade skill.  Well at least until every raid on Sayryn starts mustering there.

- Made it to the planes of Justice, Disease and Inovation.  All look pretty cool.  ZI of PoD is pretty safe, and ZO is near.  ZI of PoJ is safe, but zone out is a little bit away.  Path to ZO was safe when I went through.  PoI ZI is dangerous, but ZO is near.  All three of these zones have really cool looks and sound effects to them.

Overall I'd say worth it if only for the transportation aspects.   Can't really comment on the adventure zones yet because I really didn't do more then scout the zone ins.

first loc for #9 is -340, not positive.

You can do this quest backwards you don't have to talk to everyone first. Just find and turn in the book first domino from there. Book is on a ten minute spawn. Even with this info its a huge PIA. But very much worth the effort.

Quit Inspecting me
Of course I'm paranoid. You'd be paranoid too if they were after you.

unoshato

ok near by willomena is a little gnome...
he is at n442 p861

he asks if you will do him a favor and gather some supplies from all over norrath... not too much trouble as it seems the portals can pop you nearby and then pop you back to go on to the next bit... and the recent patches have placed the required items on vendors in each city..

ok he asks for.

1. purification tablet from freeport..
2. keg of beer from qeynos
3. ball of twine from shadeweavers thicket
4. bundle of weapons from FV
5. armor assortment from thurg
6. case of meat from the bazaar

ok fizelle and i have done two of these and are goin to do the rest after the patch no clue what he gives in return we will let ya know..

I was once told I was as blunt as a Rusty spoon... deal with it :P

Willamina's quest goes fairly quick with a guide. Try to grab Kazaba or I and we should be able to run you through it in less than 30 minutes [Note: just did it in 9 minutes with colmir, and its possible to shave time off of that]. The book is near sir gervaldi on the south side of the second to top floor of the library. Its the little book next to the leaning book botton shelf far right corner.

When you get PoP look at page 120 in the mini manual very closely. NOTE the compass rose on the map, North is NOT at the top of the page. Turn the map so north is up and that might help you get your bearings.

The zone is divided into basically 5 sectors. The outside three sectors have all the portals and are organized into a Good (north) Neutral (east) and Evil (south) sector. The portals roughly coincide with the sectors. i.e. neriak portal in south, nexus in east, felwithe in north, etc.. This sectors also house all the trainers. There is a trainer for your class in all three sectors, none are KoS. So 3 mage trainers, dunno why, but thats the way it is.

The inner sector has the trade skill supplies, bank and merchents. The bank is marked by a little bag next to a building on the north side of the Inner sector ( on the mini map in manual).

The library is in the very center of the map and you can reach it by the High arching skyways from each sector, or by the ramps built into the corners of the library's walls.

All the spells are in the library, look for your class designation before the npc's name to find it. i.e. the mage vendors were all elementalist "randomnamehere" the rangers were pathfinder's etc.

Thats it for now.

I found an MPC last night ( A male dwarf ) that spoke of planer armor. When I tried to find out more he told me I needed to get more plane experience before he would tell me more. It was in PoT.
I will get more information and post it here. I was having too much fun running all over the place trying to get myself killed and didn't think about getting more information.

Oh just FYI, before I logged last night I got someone to tell me how many people were in Old Seb, get this, there were 11  ROFL.
Marriage is the only war where you sleep with the enemy.

Airelyn

I believe when they tell you you need more exp it is because you are too low level.  That is just my guess.

I think you right Aire.
I also found a cave on top of the hill by PoD.
Inside this cave are 5 egg shaped rocks with symbols on them. These all appear to be portals but I did not have the will to enter, same goes for the Plane of earth.
Marriage is the only war where you sleep with the enemy.

[Tue Oct 22 19:14:36 2002] You say, 'Hail, Winon Glahar'

[Tue Oct 22 19:14:36 2002] Winon Glahar says 'Good day, Tinkalot. I see your curiosity of the planes is growing, as you have obtained a manual on planar travel. It is good to see young adventurers interested in planar exploration, but there is one aspect of discovery you must always be prepared for, the struggle for survival. There are very dangerous places to be seen and experienced out there, and it would behoove you to be ready to face what challenges may come. With my help, I can teach you the basics of planar stealth and reflexes if you are [willing to learn].

[Tue Oct 22 19:14:49 2002] You say, 'i am willing to learn'

[Tue Oct 22 19:14:50 2002] Winon Glahar says 'This is good. Through your trials of planar travel shall your knowledge of stealth techniques grow, and the more you learn, the more you shall produce. In order to prove your newfound knowledge, your first lesson will be to create a special [planar stein] of particular design. Once you have acquired this stein, you must give it to me along with your Planar Traveler's Manual. Once done, new lessons may be opened up to you.'

[Tue Oct 22 19:15:33 2002] You say, 'what planar stein'

[Tue Oct 22 19:15:33 2002] Winon Glahar says 'To fashion the stein I seek, you must acquire a Block of Tanaan Clay, a Ceramic Lining Sketch, Tainted Planar Essence, a Water Flask, and some Sculpting Tools. Use these items in a pottery wheel to create your base model to work from. Crush some Valor Crystals together with some Glaze Lacquer in a glaze mortar to make Crystalline Valor Glaze. You must then take a Lacquered Peridot, the Crystalline Valor Glaze, a High Quality Firing Sheet, and the base model stein and merge them in a kiln to put the finishing touches on your work. I hope to see you bring me a handsome-looking stein soon. Good luck!'

---
Planar Stein
Block of Tanaan Clay, ceramic lining sketch, Tainted planar essence, water flask, sculping tools. (combine in wheel makes base model)
Valor Crytals(from PoV) + Glaze Laquer (combine in Glaze Mortar, makes Crystalline Valor Glaze)
Lacquered Peridot + valor glaze + Hq firing sheet + base model (combine in Kiln)

Got the Stein made. Headed to Winon. Hailed him made sure I got the right quest text, told me about stealth and reflexes. Handed the Stein and the First Book and got a new book plus information to speak with Leramas to his right. Leramas speaks of the stealth boo....but... I got this

Beginner Magic Manual
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO DROP
Slot: RANGE SECONDARY
AC: 7
WIS: +6 INT: +6 HP: +15 MANA: +15
Recommended level of 45.
WT: 1.0 Size: SMALL

ALSO you can apparently choose which path to take cause this was also posted there

The apprentices to the Sages in PoK want the following 3 tradeskilled items to "advance" your apprenticeship to them. Some Odd items and you only need to do 1 of the 3 to advance it seems... You must finish the Planar Travellers Manual to get these recipes.

Recipes Follow:

[HobGoblin Surprise] for Acomar Lothwol (676, 812)
pie tin + bread + hobgoblin mean + brown gravy (combine in oven)
----
[Planar Blood Brew] for the Dark Elfs Troll Assistant (need name/loc)

Nightmare Mephit Blood, Slarghlilug Blood, Bobonian Blood, Soda Water, Grapes, Cask, Cork, Corking Device

---
Planar Stein for gnomes Apprentice (forget name/loc, mentioned fully in the above post)

Block of Tanaan Clay, ceramic lining sketch, Tainted planar essence, water flask, sculping tools. (combine in wheel makes base model)
Valor Crytals + Glaze Laquer (combine in Glaze Mortar, makes Crystalline Valor Glaze)
Lacquered Peridot + valor glaze + Hq firing sheet + base model (combine in Kiln)

Ya this manual looks like it will be the beginning of the PoP version of Shawl/Ring quests.

This is very tradeskill heavy

====================

1) Complete the PoK Plannar Travelers Manual Quest given by Willimina.

2) In each section of the city (Good, Neutral, Evil) There are 3 Quest specific trainers. Evil = Planar Combat Quest, Neutral = Planar Stealth Quest, Good = Planar Magics Quest.

3) Each Quest involves 3 Levels of Increasing Difficulty. The person in the center gives you the first quest, the person to the right/left gives the 2nd quest (once the first is completed) and the remaining one gives the last quest.

4) Each Quest Path that you do requires that you "re-do" the planar manual quest - ie If you start on the Good Path (Planar Magics, in order to start Planar Combat, you need to get another planar travelers manual from Willimina).

5) From the looks of it, it seems as if this is the "Shawl/Ring" quest of PoP. For the first quests they want you to fasion something for them.
Evil = Planar Combat 1 = Brewing (Planar Blood Brew)
Neutral = Planar Stealth 1 = Pottery (Planar Stein)
Good = Planar Magics 1 = Cooking (Hobgoblin stew)

6) Each of the recipies involves dropped items from the various planes (lvl 46+) and a high level of Crafting. The end result of each combine is a NO DROP quest Item. Which you hand back to the Quest Giver along with your planar Travelers Manual. Upon Completion of the first quest you recieve:
Evil = Manual of Basic Planar Combat
Neutral = Manual of Basic Planar Stealth
Good = Manual of Basic Planar Magic

7) Once you recieve the Basic Manual, Hail one of the other NPCs. One will resopnd and ask you to complete another task..... (unfortunately I havent made it this far so the rest is hypothesis). Upon completion of the 2nd task you will recieve a 2nd book. Hailing the last NPC will begin the Final Task. What rewards are from the 3rd level of the quest are yet unknown and are waiting to be discovered.

If you thought tradeskills were the suck in velious, well think again - im thinking that alot of these recipies are looking to require 200+ tradeskills (New Tann Crafting Mastery anyone?)

[Thu Oct 24 12:32:51 2002] You say, 'Hail, Zauvudd Gigoth'
[Thu Oct 24 12:32:51 2002] Zauvudd Gigoth says 'This is good. One of the most important aspects to your battle readiness is your strong willpower and bravery. Years ago I discovered a particular concoction that will very readily put your willpower to the test. Unfortunately I ran out not too long ago and I am in need of some more [Planar Blood Brew]. If you can make some more for my students, it would certainly look favorably upon you in your future teachings. Bring me some along with your Planar Traveler's Manual.'
[Thu Oct 24 12:33:01 2002] You say, 'what planar blood brew?'
[Thu Oct 24 12:33:01 2002] Zauvudd Gigoth says 'To make the infamous Planar Blood Brew, you must attain some Nightmare Mephit Blood, Slarghilug Blood, Bubonian Blood, Soda Water, Grapes, a Cask, a Cork, and a Corking Device. Mix them in a Brew Barrel, and if you are skilled enough, the resulting swill should curl the hairs on even the hardiest of traveler's heads!'

[Thu Oct 24 12:34:41 2002] You say, 'Hail, Acomar Lothwol'
[Thu Oct 24 12:34:41 2002] Acomar Lothwol says 'It is good to see you, Kame. As a teacher, my job is to share the knowledge of all things mystical with eager students. I sense you have obtained the basics of planar knowledge, you are now ready to begin your first lesson in the ways of magical ability. Are you [willing to learn] what life has to offer?'
[Thu Oct 24 12:34:48 2002] You say, 'i am willing to learn'
[Thu Oct 24 12:34:48 2002] Acomar Lothwol says 'The use of magic can be a taxing ordeal on the body, and quite often may leave you in a weakened state. Fortunately, I happen to know of a rather rejuvenating meal that will grant new power to your condition. If you are not familiar with the recipe for [Hobgoblin Surprise], I can tell you. What you must do is bring me some as well as your Planar Traveler's Manual. I hope you won't be long, for I am beginning to get quite hungry.'
[Thu Oct 24 12:35:23 2002] You say, 'what Hobgoblin Surprise'
[Thu Oct 24 12:35:23 2002] Acomar Lothwol says 'Don't be put off by the name, it's actually quite tasty. To make Hobgoblin Surprise, get a pie tin, some bread, add some hobgoblin meat and brown gravy. Cook it in the oven and enjoy the results. Mmm mmm, it waters my mouth just thinking about it.'

*******EDITED***************
It looks like that the 2nd Level Quests are in different areas of the city. That is you have to complete all 3 of the 1st quests to get to the 2nd tier of quests (and have the right manual to turn in). It looks like the 2nd level quests involves killing some named "rare" spawn and turning in their "droppings"
***************************

Cadelid Etord says 'I see by the beginner manual you carry that you are on the right track. Let us continue your lessons, shall we? Magic can be a susceptible, yet volatile force sometimes, especially when wielded in the hands of dark beings. I fear there is one such being in particular that seeks to damage the very foundation of our mystic abilities, an ugly warrior by the name of Vhaksiz the Shade. He calls the Plane of Nightmares his home. You must seek this foul creature out and acquire proof of his demise: his dark, sinister heart. Bring it to me along with your Beginner's Magic Manual.'

Leramas Feston says 'I hope your first teachings have taught you well, Dqua. It is time for your next lesson. The accumulation of knowledge requires exploration and study. If you explore the cave system in the Plane of Disease, you may eventually discover a foul being by the name of Rallius Rattican. You are to bring me his head, along with your Beginner Stealth Manual. Once done, we may proceed with your next lesson.'
